the mix for good measure. The day’s competition finished
soon afterwards at the MTC in the Scandic Waskia Hotel in
Vaasa. After partaking in a light lunch, we rolled down to
the docks to board the world’s most northern, year-round,
international ferry for the return passage across the Gulf
of Bothnia.
Three and a half hours later, we were back in Sweden
and nestled in the Clarion Hotel in Umeå. With dining
options on the ferry and many restaurants in town, this
evening was a free one, leaving crews to decide where or
whether to eat.
Unfortunately, Isabelle and Nicky Matthew didn’t make
the boat today. A tumble into a ditch after Regularity 5.2
left the car undriveable and the crew needing an unplanned
night in Finland for some TLC.
