Sweden was knocked out of the World Cup last night but, despite this setback, the hotel staff managed
to raise a smile as we packed our bags and checked out of the Selma Spa this morning.
Still match fit, and very much looking forward to the next
round, are every one of our 29 teams. Today9s challenge
includes three Regularities, two Tests and almost 484km
between the two MTC9s.
Today was Nigel Lee9s birthday, an auspicious day
thanks to the Organisers9 random selection process, which
put him, Richard and their Austin, first on the start list
and, hopefully, first to his celebration drinks this evening.
Certainly, their Healey set a blistering pace through the two
dusty laps of the first Test at the Tomtfallets Motorstadion,
with the rest of the field following hard behind them.
Billiard board smooth tarmac bore us towards the Örten
Regularity where 12km of well-graded gravel wound its
way through the, now familiar, fringes of boreal forest.
