a lot of blood, sweat and sometimes even tears goes into putting together an event like
this, much of which is behind the scenes before, during and even afterwards!
• Fred Gallagher - Fred’s initial idea, and a concept that
the whole office was excited to be involved in. mostly
seen navigating loren during the day, and being the
social representative for hQ in the evening.
• Mark Appleton - Clerk of the Course, and much more
besides. Keeps the whole team in check, and is the one
making sure every day runs as smoothly as possible,
even when tricky last-minute route decisions are
required (for example due to rogue farmers!).
• Kim Bannister - our route Coordinator for this event,
responsible for the recce and for curating those all
important Bulletins we know you all look forward to
so much each morning!
• Loren Price – responsible for whatever comes her
way! usually driving Fred during the day, whilst
keeping the team fed and watered and staying on top
of arrangements for the days ahead.
• Gill & John Cotton – our crack team of expert marshals,
with gill also spending much of her day working on all
of the results and handling any queries and disputes.
always happy to lend a hand and provide advice to
competitors and team members alike.
• Jim Smith – part of the recce team on this event, and
responsible for kitting out all of our marshal crews.
King of parking arrangements, and part-time toilet
inspector too...!
• Dick Appleton & Chris Mills – taking on the difficult job
of being the advance Car, they face all the disruption
on the road and have to find solutions to make it easier
for the rest of us. always a pleasure to see them back
with the rest of the gang for the last few days!
• David Harris – keeping track of you every minute of
the day, making sure we knew where you were and if
we needed to send help, whilst driving dr John.
• Kitty Burdett – although you probably haven’t met
Kitty, she’s the one who answers all of your queries
in the office and keeps things going whilst the rest of
us travel with the rally. a force to be reckoned with
when getting through all the necessary event admin!
• Our amazing mechanics team – andy inskip, Charlie
neale, russ smith and Jamie turner. no doubt you all
required their assistance at some point, some more
than others! often to be found under a car late at night,
or sneaking in to dinner in their oily work clothes!
• Helen Oates – our brilliant Finance director, making
sure our agents and hotels have all been paid before
we arrive, and with the unenviable job of sorting the
team’s expenses!
• Our super-talented media team – With gerard Brown
& marcus rowe providing photographic content for
the daily rally reports, and ryan hallett & marcus
Jones on filming duties (with Chris Brown back at
home editing), memories of this incredible event live
on through their inspiring footage.
• John Llewellyn – not only our rally doctor, but a
minefield of interesting (usually!) information about
the history of where we are travelling and the local
flora and fauna.
• Sarah Ormerod – supporting John in keeping our
competitors and team healthy, whilst always bringing
a smile and a healthy dose of cheer to proceedings.
• Karen Leahy, Ben Wood & Gill Marcucci – although
you don’t see these guys in action, they work all hours
to update the website with results and photos, put
together this Daily Dispatch, post all our films and
photos on social media and make all our printed and
online material look so good!
