surroundings of the Duke of Grafton’s stables.
The Euston Too Test was a reprise of the pre-lunch
section, the sting in the tail being the drivers were
blindfolded and entirely reliant on the instructions
from their navigator. The cones took a real beating but
they slowly began to regain their composure when we
set a course for a Route Check at Kilverstone Church
en-route to a second tour of the Abrey’s allium empire
and the …another Great Big Onion Regularity and
subsequent Test through the sorting facility for some
Further Yardage.
The day was coming to an end and all that stood between
the crews and an ice cream at the MTC in Helmingham
Hall was a Route Check in Thornham Magna. We then
made our way to the night halt at Kesgrave, where a local
troubadour, Casper Clarke, entertained us over a dinner
of asparagus, beef and passion fruit pavlova.

Despite the shelves full of temptation, there was no more
than a sniff of the barman’s apron before the rally made
its way to a Test at Snetterton Store. Like many of today’s
venues this one came courtesy of the Abrey family, who’d
allowed us to take over some of their yards and fields. With
the aid of a weighbridge, more accustomed to dealing with
root vegetables, the crew’s homework was marked with
penalties applied accordingly.
Two Regularities brought the tempo down. The first,
through Bow Street, saw more ambiguous tulips planted
in the road book on a route which dog-legged its way
across the wheat fields.
The World is Just… Regularity followed, where the
crews got to enjoy more Abrey real estate, dropping them
neatly into another Test around the barns of Larkshall
Yard and on to another in the nearby parkland of Euston
Hall. The lunch and Time Control at Euston Hall came not
a moment too soon for the 26 hungry crews and featured
